Produced in conjunction with an exhibition at the University Art Gallery - Taylor Hall, California State University, Chico, from March 22 - April 22, 1982. Alice Hutchins' sculptures are constructed from a myriad of magnets and magnetizable steel, including bearings, washers, springs, rods and bushings, and they insist upon the physical involvement of the viewer. Catalogue includes duotone photographs of artist's work, and a biography by James W. McManus, Director of the University Art Gallery, detailing Hutchins' rise from still-life painter to Fluxus icon.
